Ten Occupy Wall Street Heroes In Ten Days: Dorli Rainey

Day six in my Ten Occupy Wall Street Heroes in Ten Days series is 84 year old occupier, Dorli Rainey. On November 17th Rainey was pepper sprayed in the face by police at Occupy Seattle. Here Rainy talked with Keith Olbermann about her experience with the Seattle police, the propaganda in the media to paint Occupy protesters as “crazy druggies,” and the media's focus on entertainment news in lieu of important issues. During the interview with Olbermann Rainey also mentioned that she lived under Goebbels and throughout her life she’s always been involved in these types of civil rights demonstrations. Rainey’s blog entitled “Old Lady in Combat Boots” can be read here.

She is a hero and Americans should be proud of her. Nice drawing of her, too!
