Two Great Women

This week we lost two great Women. Screen legend, Elizabeth Taylor (79) and former Vice Presidential candidate, Geraldine Ferraro (75). I celebrate and give tribute to their lives and accomplishments with these illustrations.

A True Fighter

Bad news today as House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi was reported to be hospitalized in Rome. It is being reported that she is in good shape now. Nancy Pelosi is one of my heroes because she is a true fighter. She has been demonized by the right for being good at her job. So good in fact that when she served as House Speaker she was one of the most effective House Speakers in history.  Under Nancy Pelosi's leadership we got the Lilly Ledbetter fair pay act for women, credit card reform, student loan reform, the stimulus, wall street reform and a new consumer watch dog agency, cash for clunkers, the children's health insurance expansion, the saving of the auto industry, expanded benefits for veterans, a major land conservation bill, new hate crimes law, 25 separate tax laws and health reform. Get well soon Nancy! We need you in Washington!

For Japan

I made this illustration for Japan.  My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to the people of Japan  who have lost loved ones in the earthquake & tsunamis. This unimaginable disaster is one of the worst tragedies in recent history. Japan, I truly share your grief. USAID has also pulled together options for donating to support the response effort in Japan.

"It's Not About the Budget"

I made this illustration to show my solidarity with the Wisconsin protesters. A very sad day today when Wisconsin Republican state senators met in a joint committee of conference and advanced a bill stripping public unions of collective bargaining rights. This is an outrage.

Transgender Pride

I did this illustration for an article in Central Massachusetts Pride Magazine about a transgender woman who finds comfort in her new identity. I am particularly proud of this illustration because of my support for the transgender community. Transgender people face the most horrible discrimination everyday. Not just from straight people but from people in the LGBT community as well. As an openly gay man I consider it my duty to be supportive of all trans people because we are all in the same boat.
