NY Senate passes gay marriage bill

No words can express my excitement about same-sex marriage becoming legal in New York. This is huge. New York is now the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage along with Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. A big thank you to Governor Andrew Cuomo who signed the bill into law late last night. In a statement Friday night Governor Cuomo said "You are going to see an evolution towards this on all levels." After the senate passed the bill minority speaker, Nancy Pelosi tweeted "Tremendous victory in NY for all those who believe in civil rights, fairness & equality for every American!" Last night the Empire State Building was also lit up in rainbow colors in celebration of the bills passing. Congratulations New York!
