Editorial Painting

Three separate editorial paintings with some of the process work included. The first one is for a magazine article about “mid life.” I came up with this idea of a man standing on a proverbial “stairway to heaven.” Halfway up the stairway he runs into a sign that reads “you are here.” The second one is for an article about how record albums are coming back into fashion. The third is a book cover for the classic Ernest Hemingway novel, The Old Man and the Sea.

RocknRolla with Gerard Butler

This is the painting I'm working on for my senior studio class. My theme is movies that are soon to be released as a sort of fall/winter movie preview. This is from the movie Rocknrolla. First image is the sketch then the value studies then my progress and finally what I have completed so far. My teacher, Don Kilpatrick, said he liked my value studies better than the painting.

Maia in Yonkers sketch

This is a sketch that I'm currently working on for Cathy Gendron's editorial Painting class. It's for an article entitled "Maia in Yonkers"

summer paintings

Here are some paintings I did over the summer. I wanted to paint scenes from summer movies that I saw recently and loved: "I Am Legend" and "Ironman."
